To create an empathetic society where everyone belongs.

We’re excited to celebrate our 30th season! Since 1997, when we transitioned from the Chandler Children’s Theatre to East Valley Children’s Theatre (EVCT), we've grown from a single production to a vibrant youth-focused organization. This season, we’ll present five main-stage performances at the Mesa Arts Center, our home as a founding resident company. We’ve expanded our offerings to include matinee shows for local schools, summer camps, theatre classes, school-break camps, and various performance ensembles. These initiatives allow our youth to shine and bring our community together!

Our incredible growth wouldn't be possible without the support of our families and local businesses. Thank you for choosing to support EVCT and being part of our journey! This success is the result of many volunteers, donors, and community partners.

But our work is not done. Our challenge is to be here for our youth for another 30 years, and there are challenges ahead. 2026-27 marks a new chapter for EVCT. A renovated studio. New staff to expand program development and help us grow our organization and community. But Government funding for the Arts is always a challenge. The economy has affected families’ ability to participate in and donate to organizations such as EVCT. A more immediate concern is that, starting in 2027, the MAC is planning renovation projects that will directly impact EVCT. The scene shop, which we have been using for free since 2005, will no longer be available to us. We will now have to find and pay for a new location to build and store our scenery pieces. During the 2027-28 season, the Nesbitt-Elliott Playhouse will be under construction for at least two of our shows. We will have to find a new venue for our JR and summer shows.

Long-term, our Board is committed to developing a 3-5 year strategic plan that includes a space to call our own, where we can expand our programs and provide more opportunities for our kids to perform. We still need your support and offer many ways for you to help.

  • Become a Sustaining Member

Become a sustaining member by giving monthly. As a monthly donor (at least $15/month), you provide a stable financial base and help sustain year-round educational programming. Sustaining Members also enjoy bonus content, special gifts, and paper playbills at Main Stage productions.

  • Donate Anytime: Your Impact, Your Choice!

When you donate to East Valley Children's Theatre is up to you. But when you are inspired to donate, you have choices to support what is most important to you. Just select your passion from our drop-down menu. The opportunities are

  • Goyer Scholarship Fund - The Goyer Scholarship honors EVCT Founders Goyers’ lifelong dedication to youth theatre. This fund supports deserving students by covering a portion of program fees for EVCT Classes and Camps, so financial barriers don’t limit access to EVCT’s classes and camps.
  • Karen and Ernie Rolston Scholarship Fund - The Karen and Ernie Rolston Scholarship offers young performers access to EVCT’s performance troupes, where they gain confidence, teamwork, and artistry. The Rolstons’ love of the arts inspired them to create this scholarship to cover a portion of performance troupe fees for those facing financial challenges.
  • General Operating Fund - Most grants do not cover the normal operating costs of rent, utilities, maintenance, and supplies, which are essential to a successful program. A donation to the General Operating Fund helps cover these routine expenses.
  • Business or Show Sponsorships - Sponsorships are an opportunity for you to highlight to the community that you or your business supports our efforts to provide a safe community and make arts accessible to the youth of the East Valley. That influence can help others to support our mission. We have a multi-level sponsorship program designed to meet your level of engagement. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, reach out to our new Board President, Kathleen Richards, at kathleenr@evct.org.
  • Leverage the generosity of others
